It with great sadness that we report the passing of Mrs Daphne Payne, who had a long-standing association with the club. She was 87, and was the widow of Geoff Payne, a Horsell cricketer of many years and whose family helped form the club. His club history is on this website. Mrs Payne's illness was brief and she died on January 14. She was a great supporter of the club during Geoff's playing years and after.

The club wishes to express our collective condolences to the Paynes and also our gratitude for Daphne's kind bequest. For those who would like to attend the funeral please contact our Chairman Peter Smith for more details.

It's that time of year again. The weather is hitting hard and the holiday adverts are on the telly.

Why not turn your attention to the 2012 cricket season?

Woking & Horsell nets will be held at Woking Leisure Centre each Tuesday evening from 8.30 - 10:00pm until early April.

The Surrey Cricket Board organises a number of courses for umpires and scorers. The courses will be held prioir to the 2012 season so anyone taking part will be ready to put their new knowledge into practice.

The level 1 umpiring course provides an thorough background to the game and how to officiate. As well as giving a detailed review on the laws and their application. The course is suitable for all from interested parents who have not umpired before, through to those who often stand in lower level league games.

The scorers courses are also ideal for beginners as well as those who score already, but have not yet obtained a qualification.

Qualified umpirers and scorers can be a big help both to the senior and junior sections of the Club.

Woking and Horsell Cricket Club are delighted to announce that Horsell based Global Travel Management (GTM) have signed an agreement to become the official sponsor of Woking and Horsell Cricket Club’s Juniors. GTM has secured a number of rights with the Surrey Championship club for an initial one year term.

The deal, which starts on 1 January 2012, will see the award winning local business travel managers become the main partner for the Colts teams, from Under 9 through to Under 17 age groups. GTM brand will appear on junior kit in the coming season and the company will be highly visible across the club.

The deal, brokered by Woking based IML Sports Marketing, kicks off at an exciting time at the Brewery road club with a new Chairman and committee looking to build on the successes and progress made on and off the field over the last few years.

GTM’s Managing Director, Scott Pawley, said 'We are looking to raise the company’s profile locally and to put something back into the local area and community in doing so. We look forward to seeing some exciting talent emerge from the Woking and Horsell junior teams that will continue to drive the club forward on the pitch.'
