News

Six Nations rugby returns this weekend and we will be showing both of Saturday's games at the clubhouse. The bar will be open from 1.30.

The games are as follows:

Wales v Italy - 2.15

Ireland v Scotland - 4.45

Please note that England's game against France on Sunday will not be shown at the club as it clashes with nets.

We hope to see many of you there.

Your respective Age Group Manager (AGM) will contact you to arrange details of your session as we cannot accommodate the whole age group at once. It is very important you look out for advance communication from your AGM and do not just turn up with your child for a session. If you have not received any contact from your AGM, please contact Paul, the Colts Chair at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

The following principles will apply to all our sessions, in line with the most recent ECB guidance:
 - If a Colt, or anyone in your household is showing any symptoms of Covid 19, they must not attend the session. Please email your AGM to inform them should this be the case.
 - Coaching will take place in groups of 5 colts to 1 coach. These groups will not mix with other groups and everyone in the group is required to maintain a 2m distance throughout the session from the other colts, and the coach.
 - Please arrive no earlier than the scheduled start time of your session and leave promptly afterwards. Time has been built in to allow for arrival and briefing.
 - Please observe the one-way entry and exit system in place at the Club.
 - All Colts will be required to sanitise their hands on arrival.
 - A parent (but not both) must remain on site for the duration of the session and remain within a dedicated area on the outfield, maintaining a social distance of 2m from others.
 - Colts should supply their own equipment and balls as far as possible.
 - Sharing of equipment will be minimised and regular sanitisation of any shared equipment will take place. There will be no communal helmets or gloves provided.
 - Colts must keep any of their own equipment in a bag when not being used, together with a water bottle.
 - If you do not wish for your child to attend the session to which you are invited, that is completely understandable and will not affect their ability to participate in other sessions or
activities for the rest of the summer.
 - We encourage you to walk or cycle if you can and please enter the Ground by the pavilion gate and not by climbing over the fence.
 - The bar and pavilion will remain closed. Toilets will be available for essential use for U8’s – U14 sessions but we strongly encourage your child to go to the toilet at home beforehand.

We shall keep this under review and communicate plans for future weeks as soon as possible.

U6 and U7

We shall communicate our plans for these age groups in the coming weeks and hope to be able to start some sessions during July.

Vacancies

We are full in all age groups up to U14 but we do have places in our older colts groups and within our girls sections (U8 – U13). If you are interested in joining the Club, or going on our waiting lists please contact our membership secretary, This email address is being protected from spambots. Following the AGM earlier this month, a number of changes have taken place with. Keith Goodwin and Andy Morgan taking over as Chairman and Secretary from Peter Smith and Trevor Woods respectively.

A number of other roles have been filled, however, we are still looking for a Sponsorship and Fundraising Manager to replace Keith. The role is not particularly onerous, a couple of hours a week, but we would like them to continue the links with our current sponsors, seek out new ones, and file new grant applications for items such as ground or cricket equipment. If you are interested in this role or would like to find out more then please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

This year’s Woking and Horsell Cricket Club AGM will take place on Thursday 7 November at 8.00.

The Annual AGM is one of the most important events of the year. The AGM discusses and decides the fundamentals for the 2020 cricket season. Anything from nominating new captains, committee members, playing requirements, the pitch, finances and subscriptions to name just a few items. This year it takes on increased importance as we are dealing with the resignations of a number of key committee members as you will probably know. Our Chairman, Peter Smith, and our Secretary, Trevor Woods, have both taken the decision to step down after many years of fantastic service and we thank them both for all their hours of hard work.

We are looking to increase the number of volunteers in 2020 by breaking down some of the main committee roles into sub-committee roles. Some of you have volunteered to help out already and thank you very much for that, however, we need more help. If you can assist, even if is just for a couple of hours a week, then please contact Andrew Murphy.

Come to the AGM let's hear your voice and let's make a difference to this great club. Please do not leave it to others as there is only so much the few can do.
