Social Events
Saturday 28 June - 80's Summer Party
It has been a short while since we had our last social event at W&H so we are
lining up the next one for Saturday 28 June (who says nothing ever happens in
June) starting from about seven o'clock at the club once the cricket has
finished.
80's music
BBQ
80's fancy dress
and maybe we can throw in some 80's fun and games as well.
As usual, everybody is welcome and I hope you can all make it down to the club. We obviously have two home games that day and the two away games are both local so we should all be back at the club at a reasonable hour.
Saturday 17th May - Club BBQ
The BBQ will be out this Saturday (17th May) after the game. It would be great to see as many of you at the club as possible.
Friday 14th March - Race Night
Another successful evening as the club took a 725 pound profit on the night. Once again thanks must go to those who helped out behind the bar and also to David Gibney and Tony Bennett who ran an extremely successful Tote. Thanks also goes to those who bought horses.
Friday 1st February - Quiz and Awards evening
The Quiz Night gets bigger and better. Nearly 100 people battled it out on Friday 1st February with the bar team taking home the prize for first place. A fitting reward for their hard work on the evening. Thanks very much to everybody who turned up on the evening and especially those who helped out.
Saturday 10 November - Cricket Ball - Sutton Green Golf Club - 7.15 - 12.30
A big thank you to everybody who came to the Cricket Ball at Sutton Green Golf Club on Saturday 10 November. Thanks in particular to George Grafton and Ben Storey who helped organize the event but also to Peter Smith, Jill Portlock, Peter Murphy and Neil Cheetham for organizing tables. Many thanks to Woking Football Club, The Cricketers in Horsell, The Beijing Restaurant in Horsell and Traditions Golf Club in Pyrford for providing raffle prizes.
Saturday 14 July - Due to the success of last years
Curryaoke (Singstar), I will be holding another one on Saturday 14th July after
the days games. For those who have
no idea what I am talking about, Richard Thompson will be bringing his
Playstation game Singstar down to the club as he did last year and his wife
Susanne will be making a curry. Singstar is a karaoke game where you score
points for your good singing or none for your bad and its all a good laugh
particularly after a few beers. Who can forget last years highlights (Peter
Murphy singing the Killers or Roger White singing Ice Ice Baby!). If you
would like to b there just pop down to the club on the evening of July 14th.
Please pass this on to anyone I might have misssed. As usual everybody welcome.
I hope to see you there.
Saturday 23 June - On Saturday 23 June we will be hosting a "Nothing ever happens in June" Summer Party. There will be a disco at the Clubrooms from about 7 till late and a BBQ if it doesn't rain. The party will combine with a leaving do for Richard Walsh, our long standing 1st XI captain, who is leaving the country to live in Australia. If you would like to come down for a drink on the night to wish him well or just to check he's going please fee lfree. Everybody welcome. If you require any more details please ask Andrew Murphy on the above details.
Saturday 28 April - World Cup Final - We are hoping that the bar will be open from 2.30 next week for the World Cup Final. There is a 20/20 game at the club next week starting at 1.00 if you would like to come down for that. There will also be a BBQ from 5.00. Further details will be confirmed.
