Clothing and Equipment

Club kit is available for all to use. We will make available bats and balls for the younger age groups. For the older colts we have a full kit bag consisting of pads, helmets and batting gloves etc.  Obviously if your child has his/her own cricket equipment, then please bring it along ensuring it is named so it is not mixed up with others.

For those in U10 or higher, they will be playing hard-ball cricket, we encourage you to buy your own abdo-guard (or box). Also to avoid the box slipping, the boys will either need to wear cricket pants (they have a pocket at the front for the box), or will need to wear two pairs of pants!

Appropriate footwear for an indoor sports hall must be worn and please also ensure a water bottle is brought.

Any questions, please do contact your Age Group Manager. It is helpful to arrive 5 minutes before the start of your session.

Once again we will be netting at Woking Leisure Centre on Sunday afternoons from the last weekend of January. Each session takes place from 4.00-6.00.

Similar to last year, we will be running another recruitment campaign, and we are always on the look out for new players. Please bring along any friends who are interested in joining. As you can see from the details below, we have added some additional sessions for this season.

New players - If you are a senior player and would like to play for us in 2020 then please contact Phil West at This email address is being protected from spambots. Following the AGM earlier this month, a number of changes have taken place with. Keith Goodwin and Andy Morgan taking over as Chairman and Secretary from Peter Smith and Trevor Woods respectively.

A number of other roles have been filled, however, we are still looking for a Sponsorship and Fundraising Manager to replace Keith. The role is not particularly onerous, a couple of hours a week, but we would like them to continue the links with our current sponsors, seek out new ones, and file new grant applications for items such as ground or cricket equipment. If you are interested in this role or would like to find out more then please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Thursday's AGM saw the biggest changes to the Woking and Horsell Committee in years as Peter Smith and Trevor Woods stepped down from their roles as Chairman and Secretary after years of oustanding service. This year’s Woking and Horsell Cricket Club AGM will take place on Thursday 7 November at 8.00.
The Annual AGM is one of the most important events of the year. The AGM discusses and decides the fundamentals for the 2020 cricket season. Anything from nominating new captains, committee members, playing requirements, the pitch, finances and subscriptions to name just a few items. This year it takes on increased importance as we are dealing with the resignations of a number of key committee members as you will probably know. Our Chairman, Peter Smith, and our Secretary, Trevor Woods, have both taken the decision to step down after many years of fantastic service and we thank them both for all their hours of hard work.

We are looking to increase the number of volunteers in 2020 by breaking down some of the main committee roles into sub-committee roles. Some of you have volunteered to help out already and thank you very much for that, however, we need more help. If you can assist, even if is just for a couple of hours a week, then please contact Andrew Murphy.
Come to the AGM let's hear your voice and let's make a difference to this great club. Please do not leave it to others as there is only so much the few can do.

As some of you will know both our long standing Chairman Peter Smith and our Secretary Trevor Woods have resigned from their positions following several years of outstanding service. We would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their tireless hard work over the years. We would also like to thank our Welfare Officer Helen Smith whose outstanding work in 2018 and 2019 deservedly won her the Clubperson of the Year Award. Helen has also taken the decision to step down from her role.

We, therefore, face some significant challenges in 2019/2020 to re-build our Committee to deal with the huge amount of work that it takes to run a cricket club of our size. We need your help urgently.
Not everybody necessarily has ten hours a week that maybe required to hold one of our key Committee positions so we are diving each role into a series of tasks so that every club member can get involved from ordering club kit, meeting and greeting new players at nets, running a social event, updating the website, cutting the outfield to painting the clubhouse. The list is virtually endless. We need help with the following:
Social events
Building and House
Running the bar
Helping cut the outfield
We need your help more than ever so if you can spare an hour or two a week to help out your club or even if you can help with a certain event then please do let This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. know as soon as possible. Thank you.
